Grinnell's application to the Iowa Reinvestment Act has successfully passed the second stage of evaluation by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).

The Iowa Reinvestment Act is a $100 million fund set aside over the next 20 years to support development projects in Iowa communities. State sales tax from inside the district is "reinvested" into the city at the amount approved by the IEDA. Pow I-80 is proud to announce that Grinnell's application for $8 million in state grant funds was accepted. This money will be used to aid in the development of over $127 million of renovations and building projects in the district over the next few years.

The renovations will include the Alumni Recitation Hall at Grinnell College, the Grinnell Community Center, improvement of facilities at Central Park, and Phase 5 of downtown reconstruction.
