Maintenance Technician
Description:
Two positions available: 1) 3:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. or 2) 11:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
The Maintenance Technician role for Montezuma Manufacturing will support manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance area/shift leader.

Job responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic in nature
2. Assists in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required
3. Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion
4. Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required
5. Complete all work in accordance with IOSHA, NEC, JIC and IDNR standards and regulations
6. Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
7. Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
8. Handle confidential information on a regular basis
9. To work in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled
10. Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned workloads as directed by shift/area leaders
11. Communicates with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required
12. Follows and supports Montezuma Manufacturing’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

13. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey
14. Works with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrity
15. Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
16. May be required to adjust shifts as necessary
17. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Must have high school diploma or GED; Graduation from trade school preferred but not required; experience may substitute
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
• Must have good organizational skills
• Must exhibit high integrity and honesty
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences.
• Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Fabrication and mechanical skills
• Ability to obtain and hold a fork truck license
