| 2017 Laborshed Lunch and Learn | | |
Poweshiek Iowa Development, in Partnership with the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Alliant Energy, contracted with Iowa Workforce Development's Regional Research Bureau to complete a Laborshed employment study for the Poweshiek County area. The study defined the areas from which Poweshiek County area employers draw their employees and further examined the area labor force. The study is based upon commuting patterns into the area and it will assist existing and potential businesses with a better understanding of the size and characteristics of the area's labor force, regardless of political boundaries.
The completed report can be found by clicking here. Industry specific information will be available within the next month. The laborshed study is reviewed and updated every three years. Employers are invited to attend a Lunch and Learn at Drake Community Library to better understand the results on Thursday, August 24th from 11:30am-1:00pm in Grinnell. Participants will be asked to pay $10 to cover the cost of lunch. | |
