Director of Finance
Description:
The City of Montezuma is accepting applications for a Director of Finance. Applicant will be responsible for all municipal finance functions, including but not limited to maintaining the general ledger system, budgeting, accounts receivable, grant-writing, bank and monthly reconciliation, debt statements, audit submissions, state and federal financial reporting and other financial activities. Director of Finance is also responsible for reserve investment, policy implementation, insurance & grant administration and coordinating bonding activities. Applicant may also be involved in economic development activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Work performed primarily in an office environment. This job requires sitting for extended periods of time and the work may expose the employee to visual strain, unpleasant social situations, irregular work hours and significant work pace pressure.

Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with extensive experience in financial operations within a municipality; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Hours/Compensation:
Salary range $40,000-$50,000 - commensurate with experience.
