IT Specialist
Description:
IT SPECIALIST – Grinnell The IT Specialist installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to company end user computer hardware and software systems. Provides technical advice and support to end users. Will work with the IT Team to translate information requirements into logical, economical, and practical system designs. This person must understand the business functions to be processed and is technologically able to implement them. Will work with personnel in other departments to assure that system solutions meet informational and operational needs. Knowledge of Kaseya Helpdesk Software and Windows Powershell Scripting helpful but not required. This is a part time position. Office will be based out of Sully but the job responsibilities will be company-wide primarily through remote support.

Technical Support

* Provides general end user help desk support both remotely and on site.

* Troubleshoot, maintain and install computer hardware (pcs, laptops), peripherals (monitors, printers).

* Troubleshoot and install telecommunications equipment (cell phones, tablets).

* Projects a positive attitude at all times and provides outstanding and courteous customer service.

IT Maintenance & Installs

* Assist with monitoring and inventorying IT assets, PC’s, printers, telecommunications equipment, and software licenses.

* Install software packages such as operating systems, networking components and business applications.

* Make minor repairs as necessary but will refer major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.

* Identifies and provides recommendations for hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements to the IT Manager

Network Security & Documentation

* Implement systems access and security in accordance with company policy.

* Monitor and remove virus and malware systems.

Project Management

* Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.

* Uses recommended support and training tools that increase system usability.

* Automate and Script day to day IT Processes where applicable.
