Description:
EPC is a one-stop shop for your plastic injection molded products. Currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for an expanding manufacturer that is in search of someone with plastic injection molding manufacturing experience, leadership experience, and a drive for success!
Human Resources Generalist
Position Responsibilities:
· Takes leadership role in building and improving the culture at our EPC, Grinnell location.
· Works with the Management team on staffing needs and recruiting strategy.
· Place job ads to attract new qualified applicants; meet staffing goals for production and office staff.
· Complete hiring process from interviews, selection and orientation of all new hires.
· Maintain all employee files and paperwork
· Maintain and monitor all attendance and performance records for employees.
· Remain current on federal and state labor laws.
· Coach managers & supervisors on employee relations topics, investigating and resolving issues as needed.
· Guide employees on benefits, employment issues, and work/life issues; respond to employee and staff inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
· Complete biweekly employee payroll – ensure vacation, personal and overtime hours are recorded accurately.
· Act as the Safety Manager ensuring plant and employee safety
· Maintain & manage all worker’s compensation files; conduct investigations to determine root cause of any injuries and advise how to prevent reoccurrence.
· Maintain & file all OSHA paperwork; conduct required training of employees as necessary & required.
· Attend all unemployment hearings on behalf of EPC & properly manage all unemployment claims.
· Receive Corporate Management approval before communication and/or implementation of all new company policies/procedures.
· Maintain the employee handbook and job descriptions.
· Maintain a good working relationship with the management team, supervisors & employees by acting as liaison for both.
Qualifications:
· Two-year degree in Human Resources, Business, or Management required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· Two to five years’ minimum of HR Generalist experience.
· PHR or SHRM-CP preferred but not required.
· First Aid and CPR certified preferred.
