Production Lead - Packroom
Description:

Hiring for 2nd shift: The Pack Room Lead will learn all jobs on the line and be able to step in where needed, and will oversee/drive workflow, troubleshoot issues, and provide backup support to the manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Learn all Pack Room jobs and be able to step in where needed. Line consists of several interconnected machines so will need to be able to provide both guidance and backup to Machine Operators, Platers, Catchers, Runners, Palletizers, etc.
Will walk the line and oversee/drive workflow, help place people where needed, help with communication and coordination, and serve as “go to” person with manager is unavailable.
Ensure line is set up correctly (includes meal set up, labels prepared, Unifillers & Vemags in place, scoops and other tools ready, etc.)
Provide backup to the manager including writing the daily summary report.
Maintain, control, operate, and sanitize machines and equipment used in operation.
Ensure machine settings are calibrated and may train/provide guidance to others on how to properly operate equipment.
Troubleshoot machine problems, make corrections, and/or coordinate with Manager and Maintenance personnel as needed.
Ensure proper clean down and sanitation processes are used when changing meals or lines to ensure no cross-contamination.
Help train and coach new employees on tasks.
Confer with Quality Assurance as needed on questions or concerns.
Serves as role model regarding GMPs, food safety, general safety, and wearing PPE.
Work as a team and maintain good communications.
May help with a variety of special projects or tasks.
May help in other areas of the plant as needed


Education: Associates degree or trade school desired.High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Experience more important than education.


Experience/Training: Prior manufacturing experience required. Prior machine operation using production processing or packaging experience preferred. Must have excellent performance and attendance record. Must have good food and general safety record.

Physical/Mental Requirements & Demands:

Stamina to lead in a high volume environment.
Repetitive lifting of 20-50 lbs when doing certain tasks.
Must be able to withstand working in cold temperatures (35-40 degree)
Standing on concrete floors for 8-10 hours.
Visual acuity.
